The Student ELITA Laboratory (created in 2003 by the Department of System Analysis and Operations Research) implements integrated multilevel technology for the training of elite specialists in the field of information analytics. This is based on the principles of early engagement in research work and adaptive individual educational paths.
The laboratory is involved in the development and research of computational intelligence technologies, i.e. computer technologies for data mining and machine learning, and their application in information-analytical systems to support decision-making in various fields of human activity (for example, engineering, technology, management, finance, medicine, ecology, and human-machine communication). Laboratory staff members are postgraduate and master’s students, and undergraduates including first-year students are also involved. There is experience with schoolchildren.
The task of the laboratory is also to attract young people with good mathematical skills and a desire to work with computers to carry out research work, participate in competitions and conferences, and expand international cooperation.
